Socialist Ideas are Making a Resurgence

Reagan: IN HIS WORDS
A lot of themes arose in the 2016 election, and among the strongest and most concerning to Americans was socialism.
According to The Nation, a recent poll found that more than 40 percent of Americans under 30 have a positive view of socialism. Tenets of socialism particularly took hold in the campaign of Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, whose crowd of largely millennial followers rejoiced in his plans for free college tuition, universal health care and other proposals aimed at government support of the public. While such ideas may have mobilized Democratic supporters, the reality of a socialist society wasn’t addressed in such plans.
Socialism and communism were deemed among the strongest threats to American economic success by President Ronald Reagan, and for good reason. Reagan’s approach to socialism can be summed up in this straightforward statement he once delivered: “Socialism only works in two places: heaven, where they don’t need it, and hell, where they already have it.”
According to Reagan, socialism could only work in a perfect world, and ours is anything but. And, he advised that the societies that have implemented socialist practices have suffered damaging consequences.
That advice seems to hold true in the modern world.Socialism in the 21st century has also proven to be a failure. For instance, a wave of Latin American countries
Socialism in the 21st century has also proven to be a failure. For instance, a wave of Latin American countries
One of the main criticisms of modern socialism in Latin America, in particular, is that it has led to the rise of authoritarianism. From there, it is not a far leap to dictatorship, which scores of Latin American countries have fallen prey to.Countries’ economies have also suffered under socialist policies. Countries’ economies have also suffered under socialist policies. The cost of socialist programs in these regions has been linked to rapid inflation, stalled economic growth, and an overall downward economy. Venezuela, for instance, was recently determined to have the world’s worst economy, a telling sign of the price of socialism.
President Reagan saw the threat that socialism posed to our country, and that danger hasn’t faded over time. Through a private email address, you can take a step toward getting big tech and the government out of your life. Less government is the first step in fighting socialism in your own life.

Too bad we don't have Mr. Reagan's leadership today.

The blog says it all....sometimes repeatedly(editing needs to be more robust on this post)
Having said that, it is time to break the tide of socialism already at work in our nation and through the welfare system. The CCC and WPA of decades gone by gave people jobs that also gave us the beautiful parks and other projects we have in our country. If we are going to pay folks....they need to work for it.
I was recently in Oklahoma City and saw more pan handlers than ever. The problem is that I saw abundant "Help Wanted" signs in businesses. I have no sorrow for the mostly men begging for a handout with an able working body with two arms and legs. I opened my window and told them as much! Socialism lends itself to laziness and drains self motivation.
It's amazing that if you go to a federal park and feed the animals you will get a ticket and be levied a fine. The reason it is illegal to feed the animals is we are told they will no longer fend for themselves and always approach tourist for a handout!!!! Yet we enable God's most intelligent creatures "human beings" to be afforded the handouts we refuse to "dumb animals".
The Bible says two things; First we are to render help to those that are "truly handicapped" as our obligation. Secondly, to those that are able bodied, it directs "if a man does not work then he should not eat". Laziness destroys man and beast.....which like socialism turns a society into an impoverished society(other than the leaders of course that eat to the full and live in comfort) while the masses live in want and oppression. Socialism is a lose, lose situation. -

Unfortunately the reason the millennia's are so much in favor of socialism is that it is taught to them in the schools now. All the curriculums have been so demonized that students are being taught that the USA is a horrible country, that we stand for horrible agendas, I mean it reads like such a negative laundry list that it makes you wonder what country you really are in. I went to parochial school for 8 years and thankfully I teach my children the truth, and they go to church still and believe that we are still a Judaeo-Christian country.

Reagan also maintained that "Socialism was the halfway house to communism:" an atheistic embrace of authoritarian stateism.

I love the quote from President Reagan about socialism. I believe that in many ways, he was the best president we have ever had.
